Quartz Countertops
Setting Customer Expectations
Quartz Countertop Seams 1. All quartz countertops will have visible seams. An acceptable seam will be smooth, but can be felt. Seam placement, and the exact number of seams, will be at the discretion of the CFI. The CFI can show you where the seams will be located on your countertop. The exact number of seams is dependent on your countertop layout. All requests for fewer to no seams will also be at the discretion of the CFI. Please note, requesting fewer to no seams will increase your square foot cost. Quartz Surface Material Thickness 1. Quartz surface comes in stone slabs that vary in thickness. Each slab is fabricated into a variety of design applications. quartz surface countertops are available in 2cm (approx. ¾”) and 3cm (approx. 1 1/ 8 ”) thickness. Please check for size availability in your market. 4cm Edge Lamination Lines 1. Quartz surface countertops are available in two thicknesses: 2cm (approx. ¾”) and 3cm (approx. 1 1/ 8 ”). If a 4cm edge is selected by the customer (combining two pieces of 2cm material to create a thicker edge – 4cm or 1 ½”), a lamination line will be visible where the two pieces are formed together. Random/Subtle Veining 1. Some of our more vibrant colors offered in the quartz color palette, including Angel Ash, Cosmic Vapor, Blushing Ivory, Alluring, Billow, Effervesce, Peaceful and are designed to have random and subtle veining patterns. These colors allow customers, who desire the look of marble, to have a beautiful and durable quartz alternative. 2. Although the pattern variation in both shape and size are not typically uniform, occasionally they appear directional. As a result, the CFI will design a “lay-out” plan that is best for your countertop installation, and the associated veining pattern. Please understand, due to the flow of veining in the quartz slabs, it is likely the seams will be more conspicuous versus other colors without veining. All requests for fewer seams will be at the discretion of the CFI. Please note, requesting fewer to no seams will increase your square foot cost. 3. All quartz slabs are a product of nature and variances in color, pattern, veining and shade are common and normal. As a result, the performance of your countertop will not be affected by these variations and your countertop will not be replaced due to them.
